Very often, pregnant mothers on the verge of giving birth to her child face a choice – where to give birth? In her residential country or abroad? Parents are choosing to give birth abroad for various reasons, but mainly they desire to receive medical care at the highest level.

Childbirth in Switzerland means confidence, comfort and safety! Switzerland is the most calm and stable country in the world. Medical care in Switzerland is at the highest level. Friendly attitude, responsible and highly qualified personnel allow mothers to give birth to a healthy baby and to enjoy the process.

The price of the whole event doesnt only include a proper medical services; you must also take into account the cost of living before and after childbirth in Switzerland. You must keep in mind that after 34 weeks of pregnancy, the future mothers are not allowed to board on a plane because of the risk of preterm birth. This means the need to stay in Switzerland in advance. After the birth of the child, the family may return home after 2 to 4 weeks.

We can look for apartments / flats, for an extended stay. In addition to the above points, one need to consider translation services, transfers, and birth registration costs (Incorpore Medical Center provides assistance in registration of the child).

Please note that Switzerland does not grant citizenship or residency permit for a newborn or for his parents.

Childbirth in Switzerland

If you decide to give birth in Switzerland, we will arrange for you a proper obstetric program in the best and most reputable clinics in Switzerland.
Our medical center is working exclusively with hospitals who have been certified in accordance with ISO 9001, and some of them belong to the Swiss Leading Hospitals.
We exclusively collaborate with doctors, specialists with the FMH (Swiss Medical Association) diploma in the field of obstetrics and gynecology and former chiefs of clinic in Swiss University Hospitals.

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in our partner clinics are equipped with all the necessary and the most modern facilities: children’s changing tables, isolation room, apnea mattress, saturometr, surveillance cameras, phototherapy lamps and neonates ECG. Graduate medical personnel specializing in neonatology constantly check on the young mothers. After the baby is born, the midwife gives moms all the necessary advice on breast feeding and so on.

Miscellaneous equipment allows our specialists to control premature labor, starting at the 34th week of pregnancy, as well as to monitor twins.

All the efforts of hospital staff are intended to ensure that mothers and their children have maximum safety and reliability.

 

Baby delivery costs

I. Normal birth – 5 days in hospital

The price includes:

  • 5 days in single room with full board
  • Delivery room and midwife care
  • Medicines and medical and technical material
  • Babycare within 5 days
  • Laboratory tests
  • Selection of doctors and clinics for management of pregnancy and childbirth, depending on the course of pregnancy and the personal preference of the pregnant patient
  • Translation of medical documents for the mother (medical records, if available)
  • If during childbirth the new mother wants to keep umbilical stem cells and sign a contract for their storage in a special  blood cells bank, we organize the entire process of sampling cells and sending them to the repository (the contract and storage are with extra charges).
  • Execution of all necessary documents at discharge from the hospital
  • Selection of housing in the pre- and postnatal period (apartment, house or a hotel room)
  • Information support of any kind

Surcharge for Suite CHF 3’250

II. Childbirth with a planned caesarean section – 7 days in the hospital

The price includes:

  • 7 days in single room with full board
  • Maternity and operating room and midwife care
  • Medicines and medical and technical material
  • Babycare within 7 days
  • Laboratory tests
  • Selection of doctors and clinics for management of pregnancy and childbirth, depending on the course of pregnancy and the personal preference of the pregnant patient
  • Translation of medical documents for the mother (medical records, if available)
  • If during childbirth the new mother wants to keep umbilical stem cells and sign a contract for their storage in a special  blood cells bank, we organize the entire process of sampling cells and sending them to the repository (the contract and storage are with extra charges).

III. Childbirth with unplanned cesarean section on an emergency basis – 7 days in the hospital

The price includes:

  • 7 days in single room with full board
  • Maternity and operating room and midwife care
  • Medicines and medical and technical material
  • Babycare within 7 days
  • Laboratory tests
  • Selection of doctors and clinics for management of pregnancy and childbirth, depending on the course of pregnancy and the personal preference of the pregnant patient
  • Translation of medical documents for the mother (medical records, if available)

Pregnancy management

11th – 13th week:

  • Triple test for prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome (85% accuracy ) 200 CHF + complete blood count 750 CHF
  • or Prenatest 1800 CHF (99,9% accuracy – the most accurate actual test for the diagnosis of Down’s syndrome). Since Prenatest is a  quite expensive analysis, the choice between the triple test or Prenatest belongs to the parents.
  • Consultation (including Pap cytology) + ultrasound (measurement of fetal neck ultrasound) 800 CHF

16th – 17th  week:

  • Blood test (less parameters than in the first consultation) 400 CHF
  • Consultation + ultrasound (to detect congenital neural tube defects, abnormalities of the central spinal canal) 800 CHF

20th – 22nd week:

  • Consultation + morphological ultrasound CHF 800.00

25th – 26th week:

  • Blood count (a large number of parameters including the parameters of the child and mother, for example prenatal diabetes) 750 CHF
  • Consultation + ultrasound 650 CHF

30th  – 32nd  week:

  • Consultation + advanced ultrasound to study the development of the child 800 CHF

34th – 36th – 38th – 40th week:

  • Consultation + ultrasound  every 2 weeks CHF 650

Recommended! The patient has to be in Switzerland since  the 34th week of pregnancy.

List of documents required for the registration of the newborn

Documents that the parents have the obligation to bring  for registration of the birth certificate of the child in Switzerland:

  • Originals of birth certificates of both parents with French translation certified by a notary.
  • Originals of marriage certificate with French translation certified by a notary.
  • Originals of both passports with French translation, notarized.
  • Originals of residence certifcate French translation certified by a notary.
  • Notarized translation must be made not earlier than 6 months prior to the date of submitting it to the Swiss civil state department.

If the parents are not married, an original certificate of civil state must be provided.
